Hey
I don’t know whether you’re reading this newsletter today or not because it is the 29th of December and you might be on vacation.
Well, if you’re on vacation, read it when you’re back. If not, then hey, you beautiful human. I like you. Thanks for staying with me until the end of this year. I appreciate you, and I am grateful to you.
Before we start the deep dive, I want to talk with you as promised in the last edition. It will be a bit long, please bear with me.
This is the second last Sunday of 2025. On Christmas I reflected on my journey in 2024, what are the mistakes I made, what I could have done better what I should do in 2025 and my goals.
I followed this guide by Colby
To update you, I will continue with this format. The newsletter will continue to discuss creators making money using emails, and I will do deep dives every Sunday.
And you will get some occasional emails like New Year, Christmas 🙂
Here are some quick reflections I made for 2024.

This is it for 2024.
And, I will share the 2025 goals in the Happy New Year email. See you on 1st of Jan.
So shall we start today’s deep dive? I know you are not feeling like working but I’ve to improve you with every edition.
So, today’s creator who got featured in my newsletter is the best solopreneur on this Internet
Justin Welsh
Creators Spotlight:
Angel investor of Kit, Spekit, Gumroad, and Groundswell and acquire Justin Welsh has the most simple one-person business. No complex stuff.
You consume his content, you get into his email list and he offers you to buy his courses/1:1 calls.
Here are the 5 streams where he makes his revenue

But, let’s talk about the past. What brought this sales guy into a solo venture?
Previously he helped two healthcare SAAS companies to billion-dollar valuations by building their sales teams.
But, Justin Welsh had his first panic attack at age 36 and after 9 months he left the job and the burnout led him to start a journey as a consultant.
Chennel showed it beautifully.
As of now, he has 3 courses to offer.
LinkedIn OS (I took this course, it is amazing)
Content OS
The creators MBA
In the next section, we will see how he leveraged Email Marketing.
How he leveraged Email Marketing
Before everything let us understand the funnel
Short form content
Justin is the master of short-form content, he uses tools like hyperfury for Twitter and Taplio for LinkedIn to analyze his content performance and repurpose his entire content every 60-90 days.
He posts twice on LinkedIn and Twitter daily, one per week he posts a thread on Twitter. So he is always in touch with his ICP and nurturing them with his content.
After that, he uses the hyperfury feature on Twitter and drops auto comments where he invites the readers to join his newsletter to learn more about building a one-person business.
His tweets get around 30-50K reach, so even if 1% of people go to his email list that is huge.

His simple creator funnel.
List growth
As I have mentioned, Justin has an easy acquisition system.
Write really good tweets and LinkedIn posts and invite readers to his email list.
Nothing fancy.
Email Copy:
As I have mentioned multiple times, your emails get converted when you
Start focusing on giving more than asking and secondly
When you follow the rule of 1.
Justin does this beautifully, he doesn’t write anything complex.
He talked and studied customer psychology for so long, that he knows the problem very well, so he picks up 1 main problem and solves it in each of his editions.
Also, Justin mentioned a cool copywriting technique by Eddie Shleyner. The concept is called “fascination” (capture your reader's attention by making them curious). Justin does this quite well.
Segmentation + Personalization:
I always ask you to be “specific” it gives you better results. You can’t send anything to anyone. In one of his emails, Justin mentioned how effectively he used segmentation + personalization.
How did he make it happen?
First, he identified his ideal audience for the course (The Creators MBA) launch and those who showed interest.
Then he segmented the audience based on their interests.
Then he ran the campaign and made $650K from the launch.
He was able to segment 86% of all contacts
A/B tested the launch, and the group that was personalized to converted 39% higher – leading to more than $650k in new revenue
Key Results (source)
+$650,000 additional launch revenue
35,000 segmented contacts
+88% increased sales page conversions
Again, selling to everyone or writing to everyone means selling to none or writing to none.
Here is his simple funnel →
As of now, he is using Kajabi, a really amazing tool. He built his landing pages and sends emails from it.
Urgency
Urgency is one of the components of psychology which helps you to get quick action from your audience.
Do you want me to deep dive any creator you like? Drop the suggestion as a reply to this email or add it to the comment or DM me on any Social Media.
Key Takeaways
After doing the deep dive, here are 3 key takeaways
Educate, educate and educate then sell, make yourself the only solution
Write good copy and trigger psychology
Be more personalize and segment your audience
This was the last email I sent you in the year 2024.
